Transition from in-plane to out-of-plane azimuthal enhancement in Au+Au collisions

چکیده
The incident energy at which the azimuthal distributions in semi-central heavy ion collisions change from in-plane to out-of-plane enhancement – Etran is studied as a function of mass of emitted particles, their transverse momentum and centrality for Au+Au collisions. The analysis is performed in a reference frame rotated with the sidewards flow angle (Θflow) relative to the beam axis. A systematic decrease of Etran as function of mass of the reaction products, their transverse momentum and collision centrality is evidenced. The predictions of a microscopic transport model (IQMD) are compared with the experimental results.

Jets as a Probe of Dense Matter at RHIC
Jet quenching in the matter created in high energy nucleus-nucleus collisions provides a tomographic tool to probe the medium properties. Recent experimental results on jet production at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) are reviewed. Jet properties in p+p and d+Au collisions have been measured, establishing the baseline for studying jet modification in heavy-ion collisions. Current pr...
متن کاملGlobal polarization and parity violation study in Au+Au collisions
We present results on the parity violation effects and global system polarization measurements in Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 62 GeV obtained with the STAR detector at RHIC. The parity violation effects are studied by three particle azimuthal correlations of charged particles. The global polarization of the system is examined by measuring the polarization of strange hyperons with respect to the...

Directed and elliptic flow for the Au + Au system at incident energies between 40 and 150 MeV per nucleon has been measured using the INDRA 4π multiPreprint submitted to Elsevier Science 8 February 2008 detector. For semi-central collisions, the elliptic flow of Z ≤ 2 particles switches from in-plane to out-of-plane enhancement at around 100 MeV per nucleon, in good agreement with the result re...

متن کاملAzimuthal anisotropy of φ meson in U+U and Au+Au collisions at RHIC
The measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy of φ meson in the U+U and Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) are reported. The centrality dependence of the Fourier coefficients v2, v3, v4 and v5 is presented for φ meson at midrapidity (|η| ≤ 1.0), in U+U and Au+Au collisions at sNN = 193 and 200 GeV, respectively. The η-sub event plane method is used with a η gap of 0.1...
